All I have to say is that I wish I were five again!

Can you remember the time when you were five? I don't really remeber when I was five, only little memories here and there. But after babysitting my five year old cousin, Matison, I began to remeber what it was like to be five again. It was the time when you were like the energizer bunny (you kept going and going and going), when you didn't have a care in the world, and the time when all you thought about was when you could have another juice box or what you would bring to show and tell the next day in school. I watched Matison on Sunday, the day when that was really nice out...so we played outside. She was literally like a ping-pong ball. She went back and forth between the trampoline, the tire swing, visiting the chickens, and the swing set, dragging me around with her everywhere she went. It seemed like she went through this cycle about a million times for about four hours straight, non-stop. I was about ready for a nap when she was still on a roll, having a grand old time. The whole time I was thinking,"How does such a little person have so much energy?" Just watching her made me tired, but even though it was a tiring day, I had a lot of fun hanging out with a five year old all day.

  1. She sounds like the cutest little girl. I know when I babysit little kids I feel like an old lady because I am exhausted when they are just warming up to have the time of their lives as you babysit them. She sounded like she had a blast and probably slept really good for her parents that night thanks to her fun time outside with you. The only thing I remember about being five was when I played dolls and ran a toy kitchen in the back of the kindergarten room. The times when I would get so excited when it was my turn to bring in snack and share my favorite thing with the whole class. The time when we got to color with smelly markers and take time for naps, if only we were still able to do that. Those were the good ole days.
